As a responsible shopper, the longer you have been using Afterpay, the more likely you will be approved for your purchase. Every time you make a purchase, afterpay evaluates your repayment capability.
When Afterpay is unable to accept your payment, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The card you used was declined
- Your account has reached the spending limit for Afterpay
- Afterpay still owes you money
- The information you provided to Afterpay could not be verified.
When you checkout, you still have the option to pay by another method, such as a credit card. Just choose another payment method when you choose your payment method.
If you return an item after making an eBay purchase, afterpay will reimburse your credit card for the cost and/or adjust your repayment schedule accordingly. This usually takes 2-3 days, but may take up to 10 days in some cases.
The Installments you’ve already paid will be refunded, and the payment plan will be canceled. In the case of a $100 order with $50 paid so far, Afterpay will refund you $50 and end your payment plan.
