Is Boody Legit? Is It an Australian company?

BOODY is renowned who creating everyday essentials for that minimalist wardrobe, including the comfiest bamboo socks (which we can personally vouch for), designed with all-day comfort in mind.

That being said, since BOODY stocks several reputable brands, you might be wondering whether the products are legit. Well, I did the research, and here’s all you need to know!

Is It an Australian company?

Boody is originally an Australian brand that expanded to America after becoming beloved around the world for their ethical activewear and generally affordable ethical clothes.

Is Boody Legit?

This Australian brand has fallen for bamboo—which they view as the best material for comfortable clothing we can feel good (and good about) wearing.

Boody’s wishes for customers are simple: “Feel vibrant, serene, and relaxed every day, wearing clothing you know fits who you are, naturally.“

In addition to sustainable bike shorts, underwear, and bamboo socks, they offer a variety of women’s leggings for relaxing or running. They even have ethical leggings with pockets(and what lady doesn’t love pockets?!).

Boody’s Ethical and Sustainability Practices

Materials:

Boody wants to cover your booty in bamboo, and their eco-friendly bamboo leggings are no exception.

While we definitely have some reservations about bamboo fabric production, on the whole, Boody uses a closed-loop production process to make their bamboo viscose more environmentally friendly than most others.

Their bamboo is also made using only non-toxic solvents and certified by ISO 9001, FSC, OEKO-TEX, and Ecocert. As for other fabrics, some styles combine bamboo with organic cotton while their sustainable running leggings contain a bit (about 10%) of spandex/elastane.

Supply chain & labor practices:

Boody joins other ethical brands in ISO 14001 compliance and works only with factories that prohibit child labor, sexual harassment, forced labor, and abuse. They’re also Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certified.

Green business practices:

Working with SGS testing, Boody is able to ensure that all of its products (even down to the eco-friendly packaging) are non-toxic and free of things like formaldehyde, azo dyes, and heavy metals.

Inclusivity:

Their leggings run from an XS-XL, and according to their size guide, the size is based on real body measurements, not “garment measurement” so you know your leggings will really fit).

They’re also some of the most affordable ethical leggings we could find, making them a good choice if you’re on a budget.

Community & charitable giving:

Boody has partnered with a range of organizations like Greening Australia and Thread Together, through their 1% for the Planet membership.
