What type of paint is Majic tractor paint?

Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Spray Enamel is a durable, heavy-duty alkyd enamel specially formulated for excellent adhesion, and resistance to weathering and corrosion. It dries quickly to a high gloss finish. Use it on iron, steel, aluminum, and properly primed galvanized metal.
Depending on the color you can have good luck with oil based paints. The paint itself will hold up well and prevent rust but depending on the color may fade really badly. A color containing red is especially prone to fading. This is a Kubota tractor. The stir stick is the correct color. The hood to left is Valspar paint a year old and the peach color to the right is the same paint five years old. I suspect the Majic paint may be colorfast a little longer but will do the same thing. Automotive paints are a lot more expensive because they use components which will last for you. You just have to decide if it’s worth paying about six times the price to have paint that will look good for decades.
How long does it take for Majic tractor paint to cure?
Make sure the Majic Tractor, Truck, & Implement topcoats have cured for at least 7 days. If the paint is not cured when the clear coat is applied, the finish could wrinkle. Do not apply reducer or hardener to the Clear Coat. The lower viscosity of the clear coat makes it ready to be sprayed.
Is Magic paint any good?
The color is great and glossy. It did dry a little slower than other paints, but was rock hard in a couple of days in the barn. A very good value!
Does Majic paint need primer?
All surfaces that you want to paint with Majic Paint need to be primed first. When you prime, remember to prime with a light color, and for tractors, it’s usually best to apply at least three coats of primer.
